Steamboat Residence
Located on a 270 acre sloping site next to the town of Steamboat Springs, a tight compound of buildings is located out of view of the town and surrounding development. An entry drive nearly a mile long was field located by Mark Hershberger and is an important part of the entry experience. The primary buildings envelope an interior courtyard designed for auto circulation, outdoor use and walking between buildings. The building perimeter includes various outdoor spaces used throughout the day, depending on time and season.
This work was completed by Mark Hershberger during tenure at Design Workshop, Inc.

Parks are passive and active, mutli-seasonal and flexible in function. Simplicity and environmental stewardship are principal elements of enduring parks projects.
Ranches are complex in how they operate through the seasons. The land, and operations, read strong in every well functioning, beautiful ranch.
